Why Visit Papua New Guinea

For centuries, the South Pacific has been luring the traveller who searched for excitement, beauty and tranquillity. The exploits of sailors to the South Pacific have been told and re-told, but in telling, there is one large country which is not mentioned, Papua New Guinea.

The country is, in the truest sense, the last frontier on earth. The first explorers to our country only arrived a little over a hundred years ago, and then, only hovered on the fringe; the vast expanses of thick jungle and razor sharp mountains proved too daunting for even the most intrepid explorer. The exploration of the mysterious interior was left to three men, Jim Taylor and Mick & Danny Leahy who were the first Europeans to interact with the highlanders, in 1933. As the rest of the world fast forwards into the year 2000, there are still many areas of Papua New Guinea which remains virtually untouched by western influences.
This magnificent country has a population of just over 4,000,000 people scattered on the second largest island in the world, plus several hundreds of smaller islands in the Bismarck and Solomon Seas.
This huge equatorial island provides a smorgasbord of wonderful things to see and do. The rich wealth of flora and fauna will thrill the nature lover, the strong and vibrant culture which dominates every day life in Papua New Guinea will fascinate the most seasoned traveller, while the natural warmth and friendliness of the people will capture your heart.
Our underwater world is as varied and exciting as our fabled topside. Take a dive in our warm, crystal clear waters and discover a garden of underwater delights; exquisite soft and hard coral reefs, dramatic drop offs, brightly coloured reef fish, sharks, dolphins, and some of the best wreck diving in the Pacific.

Come and travel to Papua New Guinea and be amongst the selected few who have lived an experience of a life time!
