Walindi Plantation Resort is home to Walindi Diving and home port for TSMV "FeBrina". Built on the Western shore of Kimbe Bay, New Britain Island, the resort is the base for some of the world's finest diving.
Walindi Diving is a shore based diving operation catering for up to 28 divers in three purpose built boats. These boats operate daily and run within 20 Nm of Walindi Plantation Resort offering a choice of two or three dives per day.
TSMV "FeBrina" is a 72 foot luxury live aboard dive vessel catering for up to 12 guests on extended trips from 7 to 12 days duration. Diving the waters of Kimbe Bay, Lolobau Island and Bali Vitu Islands, the "FeBrina's" six spacious guest cabins all have personally controlled air-conditioning. Diving from the "FeBrina" is unlimited and governed only by the guest's appetite. The waters of Kimbe Bay abound with marine life.
Recent scientific surveys have recorded over 320 species of coral and over 850 species of reef fish, all within the area visited by Walindi Diving. Dive sites visited include pinnacles rising from the sea bed 1000 metres below and stopping just below the surface, to vertical walls draped with corals and sponges, from delicate flora garden-like reefs to small coral heads scattered over white sand. Divers may spot a
hammerhead shark in the morning then see it later in the afternoon lazily drifting over pristine coral gardens. Between dives snorkel with dolphins or whales.
Lunch is usually served on a deserted tropical island, a snooze under the rainforest canopy or a snorkel around the island is often the order of the day. For underwater photographers Walindi Diving and TSMV "FeBrina" have won many major prizes in internationally recognised underwater photographic competitions.
