    I once knew a guy

He always spoke of going to war and I never thought he would

    live up to it

Years later he disappeared from my social contacts and moved

into the ways of the army.

Years later he sent me an email saying good bye and i

    didn't know why

He was so close to me because he was brother. i got him his

first job, i grew up with

with him. i got him the girl friend that he loved for all

    eternity but she never realised.

    But the news arrived yesterday

I remember the day so very well

The smallest detail I can tell

I remember how my mother cried

I remember how I felt he lied

I remember how my sister wept

    And many nights passed unslept

I remember how my brother was mad

I remember how my father was sad

But never even said I word

Because of that horrible news we heard

    His body was never found

It’s lying somewhere on the ground

    I remember his warm smile

And it makes me happy for a while

Them I remember it’s gone forever

The smile that was so clever

We made a grave for him

Under a tree where the light is dim

On the stone it said, ‘loving friend,

Who fought for his country until the end’

    Every memory I will save

I’ll lie 60 roses on his grave.
