The Islam: A radical religion?!
Not only after Sep 11 some people expressed their concern that Islam is a radical religion, not tolerant to beliefers of other denominations. I am very much undecided about that viewpoint. E.g. Orthodox Jews in Israel as well have not been treating very gentle their Palestine neighbors - not to speak of the IDF invading at least temporarily Palestine soil. And the only superpower in the world also is pursuing their goals not only by means of Christian values. What do you think?
I am not talking politics, but am seriously interested in sincere answers. Thanks!! |

Why do they try to enforce/impose their religion on others?
What about the maluku tragedies... In Indonesia?!?!?! JAKARTA -- Violence gripped the Maluku islands on Monday as church leaders and protesters demanded that the United Nations intervene and officials reportedly declared a limited state of emergency to halt escalating fighting between Muslims and Christians. source - http://csf.colorado.edu/forums/isafp/2000/msg00088.html Maluku being the only island province of Indonesia that was prodominently of christian faith has over the years become less and less due to the radical migration of muslims from other parts of Indonesia... This sudden overflow of muslims has cause serious impacts to the sociostructure and balance of Maluku... And over the years there have been devastation conflicts between the two religious groups... A lot of Christian were and still are being forced to change their beliefs... In todays society this is not acceptable... Radical Fundamentalists of the Muslim/Islamic religion imposing their beliefs on others. Where is the freedom of choice? Where is the justice?

i can't really say what is the best religion...but if i were to choose my religion from birth, i'd choose the buddhist faith. cause they are not at war with anyone, nor do they force religion onto anyone or any country.
BUT...if i really had to choose one or nothing, i'd choose to be agnostic. but what it seems like to me is that, certain people of certain religions use religion as an excuse to cause trouble anywhere at any time. so maybe religion isn't the cause of such things. it's the people who put ideas into other people's heads to follow.... i don't know what i'm talking about. Possibilities:
- Islam probably has too many loopholes that allows many people to easily misuse it - Islam preaches what they are doing right now - kill others if they don't want to convert - it's ok - It be that people in the middle east are just plain evil... whatever religion they have. They might just happens to hold islam as their religion - all of the above - Stupid people who believe in their leaders who use islam to gain their personal agenda VERY FUNNY: firing the missile while yelling Allahu Akbar (God almighty) I mean they think (and probably will also tell you that it is written in their bible) that it is ok to kill in the name of god There are sick christian people who kill etc in the name of religion as well but they are just some sick twisted people like wantok, I don't know what I am talking about either |

You think common sense would have replaced religion by now - but alas!

Hi what an interesting method of research you have done, vlk, I have visited those other forums as well and read some pretty good views, which I must say are nothing new to me. The fact remains though, that this day and age there are more moslems who do this killings than any other religions and the are millions of people who believe in their cause (the opinions that say that the killings of the "west" is all ok because they (the west) deserve it)!
I do not know maybe there are many incidents/killings/murder from members of other religions as well but to my knowledge this day and age, none that kill in the name of their god... except islam - and none that has millions of believers and followers who THINK that they are RIGHT in doing so So the basic question, is Islam a radical religion? I believe many "modern" (read people who are normal and think like the rest of the world do) moslems will oppose this view. Whether it is the case of you believe what you want to believe, or whether it is the case of some of the possibilities that I outlined above.... I am not sure... I can bet you anything though that there are some moslems who will be ready to KILL because they are so angry when being asked with this very question Bullies are everywhere since the beginning of mankind, when they do wrong and being accused, they get protective and very aggressive.. |
