Teacher killed by wife By ZACHARY PER


A HIGH school teacher from Kerewagi in Chimbu province is alleged to have been killed by wife following a domestic argument last week.

Papro Kawagle of Nombuna village near Kerewagi died shortly after an acrimonious argument with his wife. Kundiawa police confirmed the incident saying that the body of the teacher, a staff member of Kerewagi High School, is now at the morgue in Kundiawa hospital. The wife has surrendered to police.

According to the police report, Mr Kawagle returned to Kerewagi after spending a night away from home when his wife started an argument with him. According to the reports the wife suspected that her husband was having an extra marital affair. The argument grew into a confrontation.

"The wife squeezed the husband's testicles that made him vomit. He fainted and fell unconscious," according to the police report.

The husband was later rushed to the Mingende Rural Hospital after referral from Kerewagi Health Centre, but was dead on arrival. The wife surrendered herself to police in Kerewagi following the death of her husband.

The police are continuing with their investigations into the incident

Was he poisoned? Did he die from a ruptured aneurysm?

The poor bloke deserves some closure on the cause of his death rather then hearsay.
