Bro. Eddie Matane - new Port Moresby Lodge Master
HISTORY was made on Saturday, May 17 when Alan Wright, Grand Master, installed Bro. Edward Cleland Matane into the chair as Master of Port Moresby Lodge No. 445, UGLQ
Bro. Eddie Matane, as he is usually known, an aeronautical engineer, was the first national from Papua New Guinea to be installed as Master in Port Moresby Lodge. Of singular note, the three principal officers are also PNG nationals - Bro. Theodore Varpiam, a finance consultant, as Senior Warden and Bro. Hubert Kikira, a lawyer, as Junior Warden. Bro. Eddie Matane is the first national to be installed as Worshipful Master of Port Moresby Lodge No. 445. Alan Wright, Grand Master, conducted the ceremony. Bros. Theodore Varpiam and Hubert Kikira were invested as Senior and Junior Wardens respectively.
