Morobe Show

Preparations are well underway for the staging of the 43rd annual Morobe Show. The show will be held in Lae on The 11th & 12th of October 2003. Exhibits and attractions will include:

• Traditional Sing Sing (Sunday 12th only)
• Displays of village produce, including crops, vegetables, livestock, traditional medicines and much more.
• Commercial displays by a number of the major companies in PNG
• Displays by local schools and a health expo
• Morobe Show Queen competition - see young women from all areas of PNG dressed in their traditional dress
• Fireworks display (equal to overseas displays and the best in PNG)
• Ring events including - Equestrian events, Cowboy races (very exciting as the cowboys from rival cattle properties pit their skills against oneanother)
• Guard Dog obedience display and much more.

This is an ideal opportunity for visitors to see a traditional sing sing within the safety and comfort of the Lae Showgrounds (located in the centre of Lae), to experience what life in the villages is like for the local people - see them growing their crops.

Queen Elizabeth 2 (QE2) ocean liner to visit Lae in 2004. This is great news for Lae as this will be the vessels only port of call in Papua New Guinea.
