Thumbs up Shady Rest Hotel -

The Shady Rest Hotel is a low cost alternative for accommodation in Port Moresby. With its great Cellar Restaurant for the best steak in town, with Mustang Sally's Bar with live bands Wednesday to Saturday, and low cost rooms with all the usual facilities, air con, fridge, phone the Shady Rest is the best place in town to stay.

Dinning Out

Having trouble deciding where to go lately? Why not check out one of Port Moresby's best-kept secret delights, The Cellars at the Shady Rest Hotel along the Taurama Road, next door to Port Moresby General Hospital.

Beautiful and elegantly attired hosts (pictured from left to right) Lavinia Oakaiva, Anna Ibu, Loa Tamarua and Ragana Mehutu, will be waiting to serve you from an array of larvish delicacies and myriad supply of exquisite wines and spirit on offer.

Dine and wine at your own convenience and comfort, and feel the touch of an inter-continental mettle only unique to The Celler - a special feature that ensures its destinations from the others.

The significiance is highly recommended for those Anglo Saxons in town who may be missing home. Check it out because its something out of London or anyway esle in England.

Apart from the food and wine, a shinning hardwood door held to position by medieval-looking black hinges, opens to a world beyond your dreams.

The entire interior arrangements and decorations, including several top ends of wine barrels raised in neat rows on one side of the wall, carry an air of English sentimentality that is so real to pass without comment.

Pay a visit now because it will not be your last.

Ronnie, there are two types of rooms:
  • Single budget is K95.00 with common share of facilities
  • Standard is K120.00 and has all the facilities of its own.
