Dispela kai-kai buai tumas!
I posted on the "anything goes" page but no replies. I lived at Kikori for two years,1982-84. Everyday was different than anything I had ever done before.
When the Rev.Chalmers went to the village of Dopima (1902) he got chopped up and eaten, when I went to the village of Dopima(1983) I had Mud Crab for lunch. The most incredible thing about Kikori is the level of rainfall per annum.
The late John Senior told me that both rainy seasons during my time there were
over 24feet. John Senior was an Aussie who first came to PNG as a teenager
ferrying fighter planes from Aus. to Port Moresby during WWII. It was a real privilege to have met him and his family. John was instrumental in getting the
Marsden matting for the Kikori airstrip. Without it,quagmire. Anyway, I have a lot of info, slightly dated, but I don't know where to start. A Prod is in order I guess.
Ahhh, Dispela kai-kai Buai Tumas. Simple PNG pidgin for "I chew too much Betel Nut."
