Great! Thank you very much for the photos, Yaku. Very kind and helpful for all those being interested in this contest!

The profiles will then help us to identify who is who of these nice girls.

Cheers,

MISS PNG RED CROSS ENTRANTS & THEIR PROFILE

Miss Melinda Sape
(Miss Second Time Around)

Age:24 years old
Home Province:Mixed parentage of Gulf & Enga
Current Occupation:Accounting student at University of PNG

Miss Melinda Sape always had a desire to be in the Miss Papua New Guinea Red Cross Charity Quest. Her father is from Kerema, Gulf province and her mother is from Enga province.

She spent her childhood growing up in the Highlands of PNG and was able to see most parts of PNG due to her parents’ work. During her years growing up, young Melinda was fascinated by the many young girls who join in the Miss PNG Quest to raise funds for Red Cross.

Miss Sape believes that by joining the quest she will not only fulfil her childhood dream but is aware that it will be a challenge. She says she is ready for any challenges and she hopes that give her best through her efforts.
She said her joining the quest is not only to raise funds but she would also like to get to know more about the Red Cross and its many humanitarian work around PNG. Miss Sape said she would also like to gain more confidence in herself and get to meet other young girls like her who are also in the quest.

Since joining in the Quest, this lanky university student has wasted no time wanting to know more about the Red Cross’ Special Education Centre and what she can do to make a difference at the Centre.

Miss Sape was a surprise entry into the Quest, when she indicated her interest on the first mixed sponsors’ nite in July 2005. Coming from a family with strong Christian beliefs, her family hopes she will reflect Christian principles and beliefs as she joins hands with other contestants in the 2005 Quest.

She is proudly sponsored by her family company Second Time Around.

For more information about the 2005 Miss PNG Red Cross Society Charity Quest or your intention to support the Quest please call the Quest Coordinator Ms. Aiva Tamate at the PNG Red Cross on telephone 325 7016 or 325 8577 or fax 325 9714.

Miss Porebada wins crown against all odds

CROWNED: In a wonderful against-the-odds story, Michelle Pala, Miss Porebada Primary School (centre) was crowned Miss PNG Red Cross 2005 in an entertaining night at the Holiday Inn on Saturday. Miss Boroko Motors (right) was crowned Miss Charity and Miss Milne Bay Red Cross took out the runners-up award for both crowns. The five entrants raised more than K170,000 for the Red Cross Society..
