MAL Project - Rabe Primary School

I read with interest, about the implementaion of the MAL project being kick started in Rabe Primary School and think back to my years in Cameron High School that this project was carried out under similar terms but was then known as SCEPP.

at that time for this project to be implemented, a core subject which was commerce was cut out of the schools cirriculum to accomodate it.

Come selection time for further studies, we lost out as other schools throughout the nation, had taken this core subject therefore having the upper hand for further studies.

I am from Rabe village, and can say that my people have been looking after pigs and chickens even before my fathers time, so why the introduction of this syllabus.

Alotau is developing, and yes we need technical people to build our province, but not like this. tradesmen and women are what we need, carpentry, mechanical, plumbing to name a few a what we need to build ourselves.

Can anyone tell me how many grade 6 and 8 drop outs have been given technical and financial assistance by our government to carry out this so called Making A Living projects?
