I went to that school, along with my brother and sisters. It's amazing that I've never seen a photo of it before! I think that's my sister Sonya sitting fifth from the left.

Amazing I agree

I finally saw the old primary school after about 40 years - it's still there! - though used as residence now.

I have heard of Eilogo but dont recollect ever having been there, although I believe it is near to No 2 - a section of Itikinumu plantation where we lived in the early 1960s. Will post some photos later. Have a wonderful "Return" trip.

We got there in 1975, a little later than you, my mom taught at Iarowari High, and we lived just across the river, overlooking the market. I and my siblings also went to the primary A, and our teacher was Mr. Fisher.

Would have been there around that time, trying to get the memory to work. We went to Kerema in 1966 from the UK then to Sogeri (Dad taught at Iarowari) about a year or two later so certainly puts me in the frame. We also lived across the suspension bridge over the river at Iarowari.
I will have to ask Dad what year we were there, for some obscure reason his memory is a lot better than mine

A few more photos

This is the men and women of the Sogeri Lions Club at the time that they raised the money to buy an ambulance for the Sogeri area.

Does anyone recognise the people in the photos?

The people I remember the names of are
Trevor Bell - had a son Colin and a daughter Debbie
Hans Alaries (I dont know how you spell his surname) - I think he was at one of the last plantations on the road - he had 2 sons, one of them was named Ian
Ian McPherson - I think he worked at Sogeri Plantation and had 2 dashunds
My Dad - Thomas Mulhern, he was the policeman in Sogeri for about 18 months
John Adams

Judy Adams
Dot Bell
Willie Alaries
