Star Trek Continues

The White Iris:
http://www.kasterborous.com/2015/06/...ek-continues/#

The White Iris is the fourth episode of the Star Trek fan series Star Trek Continues.
This episode is of particular interest to Doctor Who fans as it has a Doctor, that of Colin Baker in it, and rightly so he is credited as Special Guest Star.
TNG alum Marina Sirtis is also here as Computer Voice.
Intriguing episode in which Kirk has visions of some of the women in his life including Edith (Adrienne Wilkinson and who was played by Joan Collins in City On The Edge of Forever).
Well done episode in which everything gets solved at the end.
The meaning of the title is revealed in the last scene and since this episode has Doctor Who Colin Baker in it, might as well mentioned that it is something to do with someone else who was in Doctor Who.

Star Trek Continues: The White Iris behind-the-scenes bloopers:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_2Sk4I1vw4

Includes Colin Baker where he encounters something very familiar. Not even in Star Trek could he get away from it.

Mind Meld: Secrets Behind The Voyage of a Lifetime:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mind_Meld

Mind Meld is a documentary in 2001 in which Star Trek legends William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy have a one to one conversation about their time on Star Trek and their lives in general.
Narrated by Billy West (Philip J Fry in Futurama a show that has reference Star Trek numerous times).
This conversation between Shatner and Nimoy was very fascinating to listen to as they expressed what impact Star Trek has had on their lives.
They laid the facts about themselves way out in the open in this documentary with absolutely no-holds barred.
It was here that I was reminded about the late Star Trek producer Gene Coon, a name that I have not heard about in a long time.
This goes to show that despite their legendary statuses they are just as human as the rest of us.

This documentary was in dedication of DeForest Kelley, their late Star Trek co-star who passed away just two years previously in 1999. Nimoy incidentally had passed away quite recently on February 27 2015.

It is too bad that Kelley was no longer on this world when Mind Meld was shot as it would have been fascinating to see all of them together not as their Star Trek characters but as themselves.

Star Trek Beyond has barely begun filming when Star Trek XIV was given a go-ahead after securing the services of Chris Pine (Kirk) and Zachary Quinto (Spock).

Michael Dorn played Worf in TNG, DS9 and the TNG movies.

Well Dorn got to reprise Worf recently in Ted 2 when his character in this movie cosplayed Worf at Comic Con.

Other Star Trek elements to appear in Ted 2 for Comic Con included a Borg, a Captain Kirk fighting a Captain Picard and the Enterprise-D becoming an unlikely hit and run vehicle on the Mark Wahlberg character.

In fact the Amanda Seyfried character who knows nothing about Star Trek described the Enterprise as a rocket ship. No doubt shock and horror to Star Trek fans hearing the Enterprise being described this way.

Also a fight between a Dalek and the Lost In Space Robot took place in front of the Starfleet banner!

Dorn's former DS9 co-star Nana Visitor appeared elsewhere in this movie and the movie was narrated by Dorn's former TNG co-star Patrick Stewart.

He was one actor to have appeared in both Doctor Who and Star Trek as he appeared in the former in Inferno playing Professor/Director Stahlman.

Pooley was in the Doomwatch episode By The Pricking of My Thumbs... playing Dr Ensor.

According to IMDb his first film was Penny and the Pownall Case (1948),which incidentally included a police box but only the TARDIS console and not its police box exterior was present when Pooley turned up in Inferno.

Other work included The Huggetts Abroad, The Invisible Man (1958), Sherlock Holmes (1965), The Assassination Bureau, Jason King, The Protectors, MacGyver & Beastmaster III: The Eye of Braxus.

He died on July 14 2015 at the age of 101.
