This is for my Dad

"WHAT MAKES A DAD"??

God took the strength of a mountain
The majesty of a tree
The warmth of a summer sun
The calm of a quiet sea
The generous soul of nature
The comforting arm of night
The wisdom of the ages
The power of eagles flight
The joy of a morning spring
The faith of a mustard seed
The patience of eternity
THE DEPTH OF A FAMILY NEED
Then god combined these qualities
Then there was nothing more to add
He knew his masterpiece was complete
And so.... he called it DAD !!!!

Mi bi lookim you behind!!! bamahuta....

Love...Your Little One xxxxx

I loved you the day i was born I'll love you till the day I die...and in the mean time Ill miss you like hell!!! xxx

TV star: My father should not have died
By health writer CLARE MASTERS
October 17, 2004
THE father of actor Denise Roberts died from kidney failure after waiting 13 hours for basic treatment that she says could have saved his life.

Haunted: Denise Roberts with a photo of her late father
Davey Robertson was rushed to Canterbury Hospital late last month, suffering from shortness of breath. Two days later, Mr Robertson was told his kidneys were failing and he needed to be hooked up to a dialysis machine.

But the hospital did not have access to a dialysis machine and was unable to find a bed for Mr Robertson in another hospital.

Roberts, best-known for her television roles on Always Greener and GP, said she will never forget seeing her father surrounded by nurses but gasping for breath.

"He was staring up at the ceiling, he couldn't move because he couldn't breathe, he looked like he was drowning and they're all standing around," she told The Sunday Telegraph.

Thirteen hours after his kidney failure was diagnosed, the hospital still did not have access to a machine and no other bed could be found.

"He just deteriorated in front of their eyes and apparently there was nothing they could do about it," Roberts said. "I said, 'Look at him: you have to do something,'.

"And the nurse said, 'Tell that to the State Government'."

By midnight Mr Robertson was delivered to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Camperdown. The Scottish-born builder rallied for a few days but died after a blood clot was found in his bowel.

Roberts is angry with the health system that failed her father. "The health system seems to be sicker than the people in it," she said.

"There is always going to be that nagging doubt in my head that maybe if they had got him on the dialysis soon enough he'd be playing golf next weekend."

A hospitals spokeswoman denied there was a 13-hour delay. She said Mr Robertson had been admitted to Canterbury for an unrelated condition. When it was determined he would benefit from dialysis he was transferred to RPA as soon as possible.

"But a transfer of this type is complicated and always takes some time," she said.

She said Mr Robertson died within 24 hours of undergoing another operation.
