Overview for Travellers in PNG

TOURISM: Papua New Guinea offers tourists a unique experience where your curiosity and thirst for something different can be answered. PNG has traditional exotic stoneage cultures which people from developed countries are fascinated by.

If you are a diver and love the water, come to PNG and see for yourself why PNG was voted the number one 'Diving Destination' in the world.

We have expert tourist operators willing to guide you on a holiday you will never forget. With the PNG Kina (currency) the lowest in years, why not come and enjoy what Papua New Guinea has to offer.

Tufi Dive Resort offers a first class service and will take care of your every need.

Milne Bay Province with the help of such people the likes of Gretta Todurawai (Kwasnicka) mentioned below, will make sure you are shown around and that you are safe during your stay in PNG.

Rabaul is also renowned for its safety and friendly people, Japanese Tunnels & War Relics as well as great diving and fishing.

Ambua Lodge in the Highlands is still operating and flies tourists direct to the area thus avoiding Tari a hot spot here in PNG.

Madang is also a place that a lot of tourists enjoy as a holiday destination. A peaceful, tropical town with great dive sites.

Madang is also the home of the Melanesian Tourist Discoverer which operates regular trips up the Sepik River and down and around the Milne Bay Province. If you have time on your hands, it is a must see here in PNG and definitely something not to be missed.

Walindi Plantation Dive Resort has been another popular diving resort for many years.

The Highlands have breathtaking views and is the home of coffee growing in Papua New Guinea. Bird tours can be arranged as well as several other treks thoughout this part of PNG

The Kokoda Trail has shown a lot of interest of late with many people writing to us asking for more information - CLICK HERE for further information:

The Morobe Province of PNG is sometimes overlooked although it is the gateway to the Highlands and our second largest city. If you are a butterfly lover the Wau & Bulolo area has plenty to offer. Also the home of the PNG Habitat situated in the University of Technology grounds approximately 15 minutes drive outside of Lae. Very tropical, rains a lot at night but the days are usually hot and sunny.

For those of you who are really 'fit', why not try something different and stay in villages and trek across some of the areas of PNG.

For more information on tourism, please contact us or post a message on our message board / forum and it shall be answered.
