All in all, the book highlights positive outcomes in all sectors pf development despite the bad publicity often labeled at the country.

Editor Brian Gomez said they are confident that some of the upbeat developments discussed in this edition will heral a brighter future for the country.

"PNG Yearbook 2004 hopes to contribute by helping our readers become better-informed citizens on various topics an understanding of which is important in the nation's search for progress and prosperity," he said.

Mr Gomez explained the articles in this issue asses the state of democracy and the burdens caused by unstable coalition government. while other articles discuss the ideas aboutt the cultural roots of the people; the latest data on main religions; the vast potential on of PNG's adventure destinations and insight into the lives of people along the Mighty Sepik River.
