"Tokstret" Radio Program offers women chance to air opinions

WOMEN will be given another opportunity to raise their views on issue affecting them in the society.

This was made possible on Friday when Young Women Christian Association launched its Tokstret Radio Program.

The two-hours program would be broadcasted by National Broadcasting Commission every Tuesday starting from 8:00 pm.
The program is funded by United Nations Population Fund and began in 1997 but was put off because of funding difficulties.
The issues discussed in the program include population development issue, adolescence and sexual health, literacy and other broad range of issues.

On behalf of NBC the Managing Director, Dr Christopher Ninkama signed the agreement with YWCA.
During the signing he said women culturally played important role in the society and the society needs to maintain the importance of women.

He said they need to utilize their knowledge and skills to become better leaders in holistic manner.

“We will make everything under our power to make sure the program runs on time,” he said.
