Animated series

Brantford: The Game:
Season 2, Episode 3.
Judy is worried about losing her intelligence after she could not answer a math problem in class.
Soon afterwards for Judy and Peter’s latest trip to Jumanji they and Alan found themselves in Brantford: The Game which presented a distorted version of the real world.
Funny library they entered into and how things are truly placed alphabetically.
The climax is reached at an observatory where Judy’s adept at solving math problems got them out of that predicament.
Incidentally Jumanji (2017) cast member Karen Gillan visited an observatory in Doctor Who Confidential 5.11 Extra Time, the corresponding episode to The Lodger.

Air Judy:
Season 2, Episode 4.
The episode title feels like it is the name of an airline and Jumanji (2017) cast member my wife Karen Gillan once played a flight attendant in The Kevin Bishop Show.
Here Alan, Peter and Judy meets a female pilot named Dottie.
Enjoyable episode with much of it taking place in the air, Ibsen being the villain here and the presence of bird creatures.
How pleasing that a newly born bird is named after Judy for what she did here.
The episode began with Judy working on her science project without her lab partners who left her doing all the work and these lab partners at the end being left to explain about the project to the teacher.
Hard work pays off and I do what needs to be done to make my marriage to Karen work.

Matthew See kisses Karen Gillan.

The Palace of Clues:
Season 2, Episode 5.
Fun episode in which Alan, Judy and Peter look for the clues and a lot of things at stake with Alan owing a debt to Trader Slick which would take the rest of his life plus 3.5 years to pay it back.
Fun seeing a frozen Peter being used by Alan as a bridge.
Nice little storyline about Aunt Nora’s birthday and how much Peter and Judy showed their appreciation at the end when they presented her birthday cake.

The Master of the Game:
Season 2, Episode 6.
Doctor Who had a different kind of Master, but Jumanji (2017) cast member my wife Karen Gillan never met him whilst playing Amy Pond.
Fun seeing a big one-horned creature only to be revealed to be a machine controlled by Alan.
Frustrating that Alan, Peter and Judy see Brantford only for it to be an illusion.
Funny at the end of Judy saying that listening to unseen voices could get you into trouble, as that is what happened in the episode, and then Judy and Peter hearing Aunt Nora’s voice asking whether they done their homework!

Matthew See kisses Karen Gillan.

Robo-Peter:
Season 2, Episode 7.
Aunt Nora let Judy out of the house but not Peter as he had not done his chores.
Instead of doing his chores, Peter chose instead to go to Jumanji without Judy.
There he finds Alan acting strangely and stranger still when they meet up with Ibsen as friends.
Peter is then introduced to a robot of himself and was persuaded to let the robot Peter to go back to Brantford in his place.
However Peter soon found Alan in a cage and that the Alan he met earlier is a robot as well. It is all part of Ibsen to take over Brantford with the use of robot duplicates.
Judy soon detects something wrong with the Peter who got back from Jumanji as he was too perfect and eventually finding out that he is a robot.
This culminates with Judy getting to Jumanji with Robo-Peter and all our friends getting away from Ibsen and the robots.
The robots kept up their pursuit even after their skin got stripped away which rather makes it a Terminator moment.
Well handled episode of robots and funny line at the end about how useful robots can be only to state the opposite afterwards.

Mud Boy:
Season 2, Episode 8.
Whilst in Jumanji, Peter befriends the said Mud Boy.
Mud Boy wants to be friends with Peter but feels that Alan and Judy was in the way and wants to get rid of them.
Mud Boy sure had a tantrum but what a solution that was achieved by getting his sister involved.
The episode began with Judy practising her violin recital and ends with Peter going to attend it but with his Walkman all the way with him.

The Magic Chest:
Season 2, Episode 9.
Good fun with the said magic chest and at the same time he wants to buy a squirt gun.
Peter got this squirt gun but by unusual means and with unfortunate consequences.
Funny at the end by what Aunt Nora gets for Peter and how she delivered it to him.
This episode sees Alan, Peter and Judy encountered the Sand King and his Sand people. This episode came on November 16 1997 and curiously enough just two days shy of this episode’s 18th anniversary came on November 14 2015 the Doctor Who episode Sleep No More which also featured sand people that of the Sand Men.

Jumanji got referenced in The Flash 3.9 The Present when Cisco compares the Philosopher’s Stone to Jumanji.

The Trial:
Season 2, Episode 10.
Broadcast on November 23 1997, the 34th anniversary of Doctor Who and Jumanji (2017) cast member Karen Gillan later played Amy Pond in Doctor Who.
Alan is placed on trial for stealing a glass orb.
Alan pleads his innocence on this but when he was found guilty of this crime, it is Peter, not Alan who has to serve the sentence.
Alan is eventually proved innocent and the ultimate recipient of the orb definitely what he got from the orb.
Good tie to Peter and Judy’s lives in Brantford when a plumber was thought to have broken Aunt Nora’s vase only to be a cat instead.

The Riddle of Alan:
Antepenultimate episode of season 2.
Interesting episode in which Alan is treated as the riddle.
Not bad the storyline of Alan of not remembering Judy and Peter and still doesn’t by the end of the episode.
Due to when these episodes was first shown in the 1990s they are self-contained and this storyline of Alan’s amnesia would no doubt won’t be mentioned in the next episode Night of the Hunters and Alan would no doubt have his memory back of Peter and Judy.
