Thumbs up Home Sick

My goodness. I love the pics, and am so homesick for PNG - especially Lae, where I spent most of my primary & highschool years.

I am most impressed with the development of the Ramu area, and had no idea about the various primary goods being cultivated in the region.

What i do remember, is the dust road that takes you past Ramu, to Madang, and that was MANY years ago.

Keep it coming. I'm learning so much about the province I grew up in.

Collapsed Gusap Bridge

Pix of Gusap River collapsing under the weight of a crane two weeks ago. The crane was brought in by the Ramu Sugar factory from Lae. Gusap River used to be deep and green until a natural dam up stream was blown up by the PNGDF more than a decade and a half ago when gravel from the natural dam began filling up the river. Gravel from the Gusap River has been carried further downstream to the Ramu River clogging the once big swift flowing river causing it to shift its course numerous times destroying crops, villages and even bridges.
