Good response to Milne Bay Website by William Natera (Wantok Reporter)

THE Milne Bay Tourism Bureau website has received much response since it was established early this year and the tourism hasn't been the only industry to benefit from it with an increase interest in businesses in the province as well. The website, milnebaytourism.gov.pg was an initiative of the bureau after it realised there was little information about the province on the internet. Bureau manager, Amy Kigolena, in an interview on Friday, said the website was a "useful tool" to provide information and promote the attractions (tourism products) of the province. In February this year, the bureau, often short on resources, with the help of the Milne Bay Chamber of Commerce, arranged for an Australian volunteer, Gail Spisse, to travel to the province to facilitate the designing of the website and conduct training for the staff. Ms Spisse will be in the province again in January to check the website and give added training to staff.
