Mystery Girls 1.2 Partners In Crime, Holly (Tori Spelling) came in a police interview room where a prisoner who was the subject of this interview asked if she had played Buffy.
Holly said she wasn’t as she was kneecapped in the part by Sarah Michelle Gellar!

Howard was the father of Ron Howard, the Happy Days star turned Hollywood director.
Rance himself was a guest star in Happy Days and appeared in many of Ron’s films as a director.

Other of Rance’s work included The Flintstones (as a writer), The Fugitive, Days of Our Lives, original Battlestar Galactica , Creator, Innerspace, Lucy & Desi: Before The Laughter, Quantum Leap, Universal Soldier, Terminal Velocity, Ed Wood, Sgt Bilko, Melrose Place, Independence Day, Mars Attack, Psycho (1998), How The Grinch Stole Christmas, Baywatch, the Baywatch parody Son of the Beach, Ghost Whisperer, Frost/Nixon, Angels & Demons, Jonah Hex, Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2, Spooky Buddies, Grey’s Anatomy, The Lone Ranger & The X-Files.

He died on November 25 2017 just eight days after his 79th birthday.

The casting for Runaways is of a curio to Buffy/Angel fans as it features James Marsters and Brigid Brannagh.
Marsters had of course played Spike in Buffy and spin-off Angel and Runaways also features Brigid Brannagh who is remembered by Angel fans for playing Wesley’s girlfriend Virginia Bryce.

Buffy (1997-2003) and Charmed (1998-2006) were seen as rivals in the supernatural genre and curiously enough James Marsters from the former and Julian McMahon from the latter are now both in Runaways (2017-present).

Once Upon A Time 7.17 is Chosen.
As this is an episode of Once Upon A Time’s seventh season, Buffy also has an episode called Chosen for its own seventh season that of its finale.

The penultimate episode of Runaways season 2 is called Earth Angel.

The episode includes series regular James Marsters.

Funnily enough he had earlier been in a series called Angel (1999-2004) including being a regular for its final season.

Rutger Hauer passed away on July 19 2019.

Hauer was the first Buffy villain playing Lothos in the original 1992 Buffy movie.

While Hauer did not appear in the subsequent Buffy TV series he did however later appeared in another vampire series True Blood.

I had learnt of his death on August 12 when I just finished seeing him in the movie The Call of the Wild: Dog of the Yukon (1997) which was narrated by Richard Dreyfuss who coincidentally also wished Doctor Who a happy 50th birthday in that said video.

Born on January 23 1944, Hauer had been well known as Roy Batty in Blade Runner.

In 2013, Hauer was among the sci fi luminaries that wished Doctor Who a happy 50th birthday that year, best wishes that were filmed for the BBC.

It was filmed whilst Hauer was interviewed for the documentary series The Real History of Science Fiction presented by Mark Gatiss.

Hauer's name had been linked with what became the 1996 Doctor Who TV Movie with his agent saying that he was a "major fan".

However in an interview with Empire Magazine at the time, Hauer said he had never heard of Doctor Who and had no idea what a Dalek was!

His other work included Blind Side, Lexx, Merlin, The 10th Kingdom, Alias, Smallville, Sin City, Batman Begins, The Scorpion King 4: Quest for Power, Galavant, 24 Hours to Live & Channel Zero.

He died at the age of 75.
