Evangelical Lutheran Church Of Papua New Guinea Elc - Papua District Youth.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Papua New Guinea. BI-ANNUAL NATIONAL YOUTH CONFERENCE 2003.

ELC-PNG Papua District Youth is hosting the biggest ever Youth Convention in the Southern Region. The Organizing committee of this conference is fully supported and backed by the Papua District. The venue is at Laloki High School just outside of Port Moresby City. Confirmed date is during the school term holiday from 27th September to the 5th of October 2003.

Sixteen ELC – Districts from 15 provinces throughout PNG, including other small centers will send their representatives to this big event. Up to 350 male and female participants, comprising delegates, observers, Guest, VIP’s and Keynote speakers will convene over the 7 days.

This conference is very special for two main reasons:

1. Among the 16 Lutheran districts of PNG, it will be another 31 years before the next event of such nature will be hosted in Papua District around the year 2034. The last BI-annual conference was held at Asaro Lutheran High School in Goroka – EHP, 2001.

2. The Program committee will facilitate seminars and events creating a learning environment for youth members through Spiritual Growth and Christian Principles.
  • Equip youth members of PNG, the knowledge which, can be used to develop their skills.
  • Allow each district to present their reports, discuss issues and problems affecting youths, make assessments and resolve viability to improve on the five main programs as stipulated in the ELCPNG Youth Policy Statement. The programs are; Devotion and Bible study, Evangelism, Economic, Social and Welfare
    Development, including Sports and Volunteer work.
It will cost up to a total of K 60,000.00 to successfully run this conference. The organizing committee is appealing to all Lutherans in Papua District, Christian friends, individuals, business houses and government departments to come forward and provide assistance in cash or food donations.
