UNIT: Silenced: House of Silents:
House of Silents is the opener of Silenced, the third UNIT season.
Written by Matt Fitton.
As indicated in the umbrella title, the third season is about the Silence.
Interesting how UNIT starts their encounter with the Silence as they investigate an old woman who lives in the said house where the Silents reside.
With no Doctor around to explain who the Silence are, UNIT found themselves with a new enemy they have no idea what they are like and how to handle them.
Interesting how UNIT's handled this initial encounter of the Silence.
Curious that there's is one thing that Kate got wrong about the Silence and that they are not murderers.
The Silence does have the ability to murder and here it is demonstrated in relation to the said house.
A very spooky start to this battle between UNIT and Silence and a very good recreation of the Silence by Big Finish.

Strax Saves the Day:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7t_PEL80ZbU

Written as a new intro by former showrunner Steven Moffat for the special rewatch of The Day of the Doctor in response to the current coronavirus crisis.
Was surprised on how I am seeing Strax plus a couple of cameos that comes up here.
This plus neat references to the 2020 series.

Absolute fun in this grim times.

Charlotte Pollard: The Shadow at the Edge of the World:
The Shadow at the Edge of the World is the second episode of Charlotte Pollard season 1.
Written by Jonathan Barnes.
The Edge of the World is a reference to Scotland.
Intriguing episode as Charley found herself in a forest and joins a group of women led by Mrs Turnerman (Jacqueline King) in finding a way out of it.
The menace they are facing here are the Slaverings.
From Charley's description, the Slaverings are "cross between a silver-backed gorilla and Mr. Hyde."
The Slaverings are sure menacing and what are lead-up this serves to the arrival of the Viyrans in this episode.
The Viyrans' reaction to Charley was certainly surprising.
This episode also served well by Jacqueline King as the unhinged Mrs Turnerman.

Which Doctor Are You?:

https://www.doctorwho.tv/games/quizz...znrqO3ZyBCZ9M8

The quiz is not for all the Doctors as it is just Doctors 9-13 and I got 11.

Well 11 had Amy and if I had it my way it would be just me and Amy forever.

The Magicians 5.2 The Wrath of the Time Bees had Margo (Summer Bishil) saying "timey-wimey, whatever".
While not necessarily explicit as Doctor Who references, the Time Bees in the episode title certainly made me think of the significance of bees in David Tennant's final season as the Doctor.
Elsewhere in the episode it is revealed that when Quentin finishes reading a book he goes back to the beginning to read it again.
The Doctor in The Angels Take Manhattan says he does not like endings.
The Angels Take Manhattan is my wife Karen Gillan's swansong as Amy and her first work after this is the movie Not Another Happy Ending.

Things She Thought While Falling:
https://www.doctorwho.tv/news/?artic...0ewChlimFqI3cM

Written by showrunner Chris Chibnall.
This is set between Twice Upon A Time & The Woman Who Fell To Earth.
This is set entirely with the Doctor falling from the sky after being thrown out by the TARDIS.
Interesting to read the flurry of thoughts that she had as it seemed to be falling to her certain death including a couple of memories of the Tenth Doctor.
Neat that it ties in to how she first appears in The Woman Who Fell To Earth.

The Return of the Daleks:
The Return of the Daleks is a comic strip story from Doctor Who Weekly in 1979.
Written by Steve Moore.
Introduced by the Fourth Doctor as he was then the incumbent Doctor.
Apart from the Doctor's introduction, this is a Doctorless Dalek story.
Enjoyable tale as the Daleks invade a planet with the help of a collaborator.
The collaborator regrets helping the Daleks when the Daleks turned on her afterwards.
Also neat that it feature an actor who was about to be in a movie about the Daleks!

Doctor Who and the Time War:
https://www.doctorwho.tv/news/?artic...DQVEAYz4OVkQGs

Doctor Who and the Time War is a short story written by former showrunner Russell T. Davies and released on March 26 2020, the 15th anniversary of NuWho.
NuWho started with Rose written by Davies and this short story is a prequel to it.
Davies says that this was not meant to exist as he originally wrote this for the 50th anniversary in 2013.
Davies had been asked by then DWM editor Tom Spilsbury if he could provide a story for DWM in celebration of the said anniversary, most specifically to finally explain why the Eighth Doctor regenerated into the Ninth.
Davies agreed and Spilsbury then had to run past then showrunner and Davies' successor Steven Moffat.
Davies' story was shelved for DWM as the upcoming The Night of the Doctor revealed the Eighth Doctor had regenerated into the War, not the Ninth, Doctor.
Doctor Who and the Time War comes back for the said 15th anniversary and for the Lockdown.
Davies described it being a "glimpse of parallel events" as he finally provides his explanation of why the Eighth Doctor regenerated.
Fascinating little story as it has the Eighth Doctor at the last stages of the Time War and
with him using the Moment to end it.
Then of course comes that inevitability and why the Ninth Doctor says that he was 900 years old in the TV series.

The Raggedy Doctor by Amelia Pond:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_c...ture=emb_title

Narrated by Caitlin Blackwood as she reprises young Amelia and written by Steven Moffat.

Very good hearing Caitlin back as Amelia and neat that it fills the gap between the 12 years that Amelia/Amy hadn’t seen the Doctor.
