A day of my life in Port Moresby, our capital city !

One Saturday in April, I headed off to collect a family of tourists staying at the Amber's Inn who I had promised to show around during their 3 days stay here in Port Moresby.

I collected them at 10:00 am and we immediately headed off to the Boroko Post Office where I posted off the latest Paradise Magazine to someone from Brisbane planning on trekking from Kokoda to Sogeri.

To my amazement, the tree outside the Boroko Post Office has been butchered and looks terrible :

We then headed off to the Port Moresby Botantical Gardens situated in the University grounds in Waigani.

A short stop to pay our dues and we are soon off to explore the Botantical Gardens :

A short time later we met up with a security guard who was on a day off duty but who couldnt stay away and turned up for a church service in the grounds. He became our guide as he proudly showed us around ;

We slowly walked around the gardens and the children loved listening to the birds and sharing some of their food with the birds as they passed by :

Inside the aviary we saw a young colourful Bird of Paradise who was trying to keep his distance.

Worth a trip to the Botantical Gardens just to see this bird :
