Acting Prime Minister, launches Christian Men's Network!

For Release - 18th August 2003

ACTING Prime Minister and the Minister for Trade & Industry, Dr Allan Marat, believes that the Christian Men's Network is "the foundation upon which all other networks will rest upon."

"It is the network that I believe will be the foundation upon which all other networks, whether within the church or in the secular world, will rest upon to give them purpose, direction, vision, that is so badly needed in the world today," Dr Marat said.

The acting Prime Minister said this during the official launch of the PNG Christian Men's Network in Madang on Saturday (16/8/03).

"God is interested in the direction, purpose and vision you set for your family, your clan, your tribe, and your nation," Dr Marat said.

Dr Marat was in Madang at the invitation of the national Chairman of CMN and former Chief Justice, Sir Arnold Amet. Also in attendance were the President of CMN International, USA, Mr John Binkey, and the presidents of CMN (Australia), CMN (New Zealand).

The Minister for Inter-Government Relations, Sir Peter Barter, and the Governor for Madang, James Yali, were also at the launch.

In his message to the faithful gathered at the at the Gospel Lighthouse Christian Centre, the Acting Prime Minister also said that the "silence of Christian men in the world has been deafening."

"Once Man gets to the place of prominence, that is, in the presence of the Living God, he has to download what he is touching in the Throne Room of God to affect, impact and infect the dead, dying, helpless and hopeless humanity.

"That is the calling of Manhood. That is the Will of God for Man to speak the Mind of God as he interacts with Him in the place of intimacy in order to give direction, purpose and vision to the world," Dr Marat said.

"God-fearing men must work and walk towards the fulfillment of the Will of God. I believe that this network is a step towards that direction," he said.

Dr Marat later unveiled a plaque to commemorate the occasion, which was also marked with dancing, choir singing and hymns.
