The Lives of Captain Jack: The Year After I Died:
The Year After I Died is the first episode of The Lives of Captain Jack anthology from Big Finish,
This episode takes place a year after Captain Jack’s first death as was shown in Doctor Who: Parting of the Ways and hence the title The Year After I Died.
Very interesting story presenting what Jack was up to relatively soon after his first death and first resurrection.
Sarah Douglas makes for a very good adversary as Vortia Trear, the founder of the Hope Foundation.
Also very good is Shvorne Marks as Silo Crook an aspiring reporter and Jack sure found her pesky with her inquisitiveness.
A solid episode and quite horrifying upon learning about assets.

5 x 1 - Aliens Among Us: Changes Everything:
Aliens Among Us produced by Big Finish has been promoted as the fifth season of Torchwood following on from events of the fourth season Miracle Day.
Aliens Among Us begins with Changes Everything and it is an inversion in name of Everything Changes the series opener.
Coincidentally I saw the Guardians of the Galaxy (animated) episode which also words Changes Everything in it only with the word Money in front of it and hence it is called Money Changes Everything.
The Guardians of the Galaxy episode is written by Javier Grillo-Marxuach who incidentally had created the short-lived Torchwood-like series The Middleman (2008).
After listening to Changes Everything I found out that it also takes place after five post-Miracle Day Big Finish stories none of which I had listened to.
Changes Everything introduced new principal character in Mr Colchester, Ng and Tyler Steele.
John Barrowman comes in late as Captain Jack.
Changes Everything is a solid way to begin Aliens Among Us including how the villain Ms Vorsun got presented in a very insane way and how Jack dealt with her and Jack explaining to Tyler what Cardiff means to him now.
Certainly came to a surprise to me by the last thing that Ng says in this episode and intriguing what Tyler gets up to at the end.

5 x 2 - Aliens & Sex & Chips & Gravy:
This episode mostly features new characters of Ng and Mr Colchester (ie if one could called the former a new character) with Jack making a brief appearance here.
With the episode starting off at a hen party it led to the appropriate reference to what happened to Gwen in Something Borrowed.
Quite gory by what happened at the hen party.
Not bad how things progressed after the hen party and funny when Madrigal called Mr Colchester the driver.
Quite a shocker that ended this episode.

The Death of Captain Jack:
The Death of Captain Jack is the season 4 opener of the Torchwood Big Finish audio series.
This story marked James Marsters’ return as Captain John Hart since playing him in the TV series in three episodes of season 2.
Written by David Llewellyn and released in March 2018.
The Death of Captain Jack begins with Hart visiting Jack incarcerated and in the near state of what it says in the story title.
What ensues is the presentation of events that is a complete divergence to what was known before.
The disregard to Torchwood continuity has certainly allowed Marsters to have a lot of fun in his reprisal as Captain Hart.
Marsters truly got to shine a lot more than what he was given in his TV appearances.
Marsters has the spotlight here with Jack having a minimal involvement here.
Among the comedic aspects of this story like a joke about two Greats, Alexander the Great and Catherine the Great and the brief brushes has with Children of Earth & Miracle Day.

Made You Look:
Made You Look is the sixth and final story of the second season of the Torchwood Big Finish audio series.
A solo story for Gwen with a brief appearance by Rhys.
It is a story set after Miracle Day.
In this story Gwen is in the seaside town of Talmouth where it is deserted except for the owner of a bed and breakfast Mrs Rhodes.
Gwen helps out Mrs Rhodes as they get away from a being known as Darkness.
Darkness claims his victims when they looked at him hence the story title.
A very thrilling story for the menace that is the Darkness and complemented well by Gwen’s protection of Mrs Rhodes.
A brilliant even if it was a somewhat simple solution provided at the end.

A shining story for Eve Myles as Gwen.

William Hughes has passed away.
He appeared in Torchwood in Sleeper playing Boy.
He later appeared elsewhere in the Whoniverse in Doctor Who when he played the young Master in The Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords

He has sadly died at the very young age of 20 on July 9 2018.

He was also in Torchwood in Sleeper playing Boy.

5 x 3 - Aliens Among Us: Orr:
Orr is the name of a shapeshifter.
This episode takes place in the aftermath of Gwen’s mother Mary’s death and she and Rhys attends her funeral.
This episode includes a passport having been found. Coincidentally I recently saw Elementary 6.18 The Visions of Norman P. Horowitz which also had passport being found during the course of the episode.
Orr is not only a shapeshifter but also a time bomb as well and quite a climax when attempts are made to defuse this bomb.
