Question Mendi International Primary School

Anyone remember the days at Mendi International Primary School - 1978. Mr Ralph was the teacher for grades 3,4,5,6 and British Bulldog (Red Rover) was the favourite lunchtime game.

Mendi and MIPS

Knew Sullivans well and got to know managers of same towards the end of our time in Mendi...I was a member of the Australian Army that managed sections of DOW....Terry and Sheryl, your parents will, I hope, remember us.

My daughter, Monique, attended MIPS 90 and 91, she did grades 1 and 2 there...I also had two others who boarded in Australia and two others who were to young for primary school so went to the Mendi Pre School....

I dimly remember the managers of Sullivans had another child who boarded in Australia or am I thinking of someone else...

Any way hi and I would have sat on your verandah in Mendi enjoying your parents hospitality at one time or another......

Bye...

Good Times

Hi Traveller

How about a hint as to who you are?

I still talk fondly about out time in Mendi an expierience that most of our family loved. I say most because the two girls who had to board in Oz did not like it much.

The travel to get to Mendi for short hloidau stays never gave them a chance to settle in so they never really liked it..

Anyway the place has changed a lot since then, am always saying I will be going back one day just to have a look and meet some of the men I worked with at DOW..

Bye for now

Trex,
It took me a while but I did finally remeber your daughter Monique. My brother was at Nudgee College and I was about to go.

Mendi has changed heeps, though i haven't been back for quite a while. We moved to Hagen in 95, so went back there for holidays from school.

Dad now lives in Lae.

I did love Mendi and the school, the only primary school I remeber.
Hope the family is well.

It all comes back now..

Aaahhhh yes half remembered faces and places slowly come back...

Pass on hellos to your dad etc...

We now live in Melbourne and have since leaving Mendi..Monique is just finishing her VCE (yr 12) she hopes to become a teacher !!! You never know where she will end up as our eldest girl, who had to board in Oz, teaches in Japan...

All the best...
