Stan Lee has passed away.
The Marvel legend died on November 12 2018 just over a month before his 96th birthday on December 28.
Lee at one time appeared in a documentary about Star Trek in Trek Nation.

Star Trek: Short Treks

The Brightest Star:
Third episode.
An episode about a young Saru but still played by the same actor in Doug Jones.
Interesting story of what Saru’s life was on his home planet Kaminar and why he felt he no longer belong there and therefore setting his path to Starfleet.

Philippa Georgiou as played by Michelle Yeoh will get her own spin-off from Star Trek: Discovery.

Star Trek: Discovery

Brother:
Season 2 opener.
The episode title refers to Spock as Michael thought she was going to see him on Discovery but it turns out that he has taken off from the Enterprise.
We only see Spock as a boy here before surprise hearing his present voice at the end when a horrifying revelation to Michael.
Meanwhile this has been a good Discovery debut by Captain Pike played here by Anson Mount as a new series regular and quite an excitement that went on at the USS Hiawatha.

Went to see After Trek on the Discovery season 2 opener Brother only to find out that it has been cancelled and replaced instead by livestreams that CBS was distributing via Facebook Live.

This announcement seems to be made at the same time of Discovery’s second season premiere as no advance notice of this was made.

Star Trek: Discovery – 2 x 5 - Saints of Imperfection:
Enthralling episode as the crew in their attempts to rescue Tilly.
Section 31, Spock and Pike all in the same sentence. Never thought that would happen.

As for the episode title, in the real world I don’t know any saints but I do know people of imperfection.

Star Trek: Discovery – 2 x 9 - Project Daedalus:
On reflection I should have known that this would be Airiam’s swansong as we had a glimpse of her past history and we really didn’t get to know her beforehand.
Quite harsh when Admiral Cornwell says to Spock about Michael being her sister only for him to say not by blood.
Shocking that Section 31 Admiral who talked to Discovery turned out to have been dead for a couple of weeks.
Then comes the big shocker of Airiam being under Control and ultimately forcing Michael to eject Airiam out of the airlock.
This made me think of Katarina doing the same in The Daleks Master Plan.
While still on the subject of the deaths of Doctor Who companions, the end credits of Project Daedalus is played by the sound of sea waves marking the death of Airiam which I found to be akin to silence for the end credits of the concluding episode of Earthshock when companion Adric died.

Star Trek: Hidden Frontier

Its Hour Come Round At Last:
Series finale.
With the threads of the series resolved this was an unexciting way to end the series.
Quite unmoved by it all.

Star Trek: Odyssey

Illiad:
Series opener.
Star Trek: Odyssey is a fan series made by the makers of Star Trek: Hidden Frontier and follow on from that series.
It is a loose retelling of Homer’s Odyssey.
Good exciting battle sequence that leads to the Odyssey being far away from home and find a way to get back.
Unavoidably this made me think of Voyager.

Star Trek: Hidden Frontier

Orphans of War:
Orphans of War is a special from Hidden Frontier but is set after the Odyssey pilot as it is in the aftermath of what went on there.
Intriguing that this involved the kidnapping of members of two ships and beamed into an Archein vessel.
Exciting what ensues as these crew members try to escape from this situation.
