Thanks so much for the forms. I went to MVIL website looking but no luck so decided to google. My last access was 01/07/07 when I left PNG for studies and I'm still away and need to renew my license.
Very useful info indeed.
Cheers

I got a driving license in PNG. When I went back to China (my motherland), I have to change it for a Chinese one. I translated them in a translation company (郑州翻译公司www.371fanyi.com).Yet, the license Class is SIX and there is no corresponding vehicle types for SIX. So, the authority refuse to change a new one for me. I wonder if there is a list for license Class, showing the pictures and vehicle types.

How to Obtain a PNG Driving Licence

Drivers Licence

To obtain a licence you will need to visit the Central Province Transport Authority. In order to obtain a PNG licence you need to produce your current overseas licence plus a passport showing a current visa that states you will be in PNG for more than 6 months. You will be required to fill in a form and have a picture taken at the office for your licence. You do not need to take a theory or driving test.

also you can go for a test drive and a written test to obtain a license if you don't have a licence already.

There are various classes of licences depending on the type of vehicle you are qualified to drive. The most common being Class 1 which is for an ordinary motor (light) vehicle ex. Car. Class 3 is for a vehicle carrying more than 9 passengers, and Class 6 for a vehicle such as a 15 seater bus or a large truck.
