She wants to see Lindenhafen become a 100% eco-tourism resort and has encouraged locals to open up to international visitors so they too can benefit from their resources through tourism activities generated by the resort. In conjunction with popular Walindi Dive Resort, John and Sharyn also hope to sell diving packages when the fishing season (November-April) is over.

A Japanese stronghold during the war, the area is littered with war relics (bombers and badges) both on land and in the water. The river systems and wildlife are amazing, especially at Amulus River, where the river begins its journey from the mouth of a cave. Inside the cave, the river also had a spring thermal and the locals believe that inside one of the cave chambers, a giant serpent guard’s precious treasure such as gold.

The area is full of mud crabs, crayfish, prawns and other seafood which the locals sell to the resort for a few kinas. The meals at Lindenhafen are excellent as Sharyn is a great cook, so we feasted on mud crabs, prawns, lobsters, crayfish and even mumu pig (Kavieng style mumu) during our five days. After dinner the guys would seat on the verandah with a beer, chat as the sun sets and forget about the problems of the world. Lindenhafen is also a great place to take the family on a relaxing holiday and is sure to become popular in the PNG tourism industry.

Ends..//

Were you ever able to follow the old railway and is anything of it left?

This place looks pretty reasonable and that's the way things in it would be moving and in such parts we can get to have ideas that works for sure.
To me helping it all and making a mark works for sure.
