Young Robin Hood

Smuggler's Cove:
Season 1, Episode 10
Fun story involving piarates and them kidnapping Little John and buried treasure.
Robin Hood vs pirates. Quite a good combination of a story to tell

Young Robin Hood

The Underhills:
Antepenultimate episode of season 1.
The episode title refers to little people who lives underground.
After an unpleasant initial reception from the Underhills to Robin they made for useful allies against the Sheriff and his men.
The Underhills are an enjoyable incorporation in this version of the Robin Hood legend.

Merry No More:
Penultimate episode of season 1.
Written by Jean-Marc Lofficier. Incidentally Lofficier had written books about Doctor Who. Had no idea before now that he had written TV episodes including this Young Robin Hood episode.
A bit of continuity as it featured the return of the boar from the first episode The Wild Boar of Sherwood.
Enjoyable episode even it looks a little disconcerting to see Robin playing pranks on his men. I mean that is so immature.

There was an allusion to Robin Hood in the hour long children’s film A Hitch In Time (1978).
This maybe due to the fact that Troughton had decades earlier became the first actor to Robin Hood on television. However he does not get to dress up as Robin Hood again. That instead was done by boy actor Michael Vey as Paul Gibson.

The Phantom Horse –
Season 1 finale.
A good crossover with the King Arthur legend with Sir Lancelot making an appearance here with the episode title horse providing a good catalyst for it.

Young Robin Hood

The Black Bog of Sherwood –
Season 2 opener.
Pretty enjoyable beginning to the second season including an intriguing menace.
Despite being menacing to them at first, the band sure made good use of this menace against their real enemies, the sheriff and his men.

Message from a Distant Land –
Season 2, Episode 2.
The sheriff makes a falsehood about what happened to Robin’s father in the Holy Land to flush him out. This prompted Robin to have a determination to go to the Holy Land to see his father.
Quite good the way this episode develop and the unexpected allies that he received.

Lord of the Trees –
Season 2, Episode 3.
Not bad on what the episode title was about.
Good that Herne gets a little more to do here than usual.
Nice plot device about the Blessing.

The Band Takes The Cake –
Season 2, Episode 4.
What a riotous birthday party thanks to the band, all because to retrieve a cat.

Good News, Bad News:
Season 2, Episode 3.
The band’s latest defeat of the sheriff leads to Prince John having him replaced. That is the good news of the title, the bad news is that the prince is replacing him with someone much worst.
In order to prevent the appointment of the replacement the band tried to make the old sheriff look good but it isn’t as easy as it seems. The sheriff is much a bungler even with the band trying to make him look good.
Absolute fun.
