In the DVD commentary on Gangsters Incident 1, commentary moderator D(i)ck Fiddy commented on Maurice Colbourne reprising John Kline after doing the pilot.

Fiddy said to the effect that Colbourne was somewhat hesitant about getting back as John Kline and that it was like Chris Eccleston not wanting to do more Doctor Who.

Director Alastair Reid commented on Terry Downes, an ex-boxer turned actor, sitting in the background with nothing to say as what he said was unintelligible.

Reid said he came up with his backstory of him having his throat cut and therefore could only talk via a Dalek-sounding device!

The Shadow Passes:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/doctorwh...f-3136207abfa2

Written by Paul Cornell.

Featuring the Thirteenth Doctor, Graham, Yaz and Ryan.

This story is told from Yaz's perspective.

Cornell has presented this story an allegory for passing time during the COVID-19 pandemic. After all just as The Shadow Passes so will COVID-19.

The allegory here has the Doctor and friends in a shelter on Calapia while the Death Moon hangs over it.

Fun the games they play to pass this time.

During this time Lewis Capaldi's name came up. Through his father's side, Capaldi's second cousin once removed is Peter Capaldi, Jodie Whittaker's predecessor as the Doctor.

The Doctor says about putting "this girl in a mirror". This is a reference to Daughter of Mine from Cornell's story Human Nature/The Family of Blood.

Enjoyable story that reflects the current state of the real world.

Which episode of Doctor Who should you watch?;

https://www.doctorwho.tv/games/quizz...JMcTTUWeQx-HgA

I got Vincent and the Doctor.

"When you travel across all of time and space, you know you’re going to bump into a few celebrities… and this episode is a proper tearjerker. Find out happens when the Eleventh Doctor and Amy Pond met legendary painter Vincent Van Gogh...

Similar episodes: 'Rosa', 'The Unicorn and the Wasp', 'Thin Ice,' 'The Unquiet Dead'"

Doctor Who - The Movie (Fan Film) 2019:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tCrP...TUkIzs8vkmi2j4

This is a fan film narrated by Seventh Doctor Sylvester McCoy.
Starring Ieuan Morgans as The Doctor.
Quite an enjoyable little film with the Doctor and Lucy.
Certainly notable bits from NuWho as well as the presence of the Daleks and the Master.
Curious bit was when a Dalek was at a school and some kids quickly got away from it.
However the dinnerlady that then showed up wasn't so fortunate.
Of course Daleks exterminating kids are not on.
However adults are fair game!

The King of Golden Death:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLHAjdBIshA&t=317s

The King of Golden Death is the final story in the 1968 Doctor Who Annual.
Featuring the Second Doctor, Ben and Polly.
It became a talking book read by Anneke Wills (Polly) for the The Doctor Who Audio Annual and then got released on the official Doctor Who Youtube channel.
The Doctor, Ben and Polly found themselves at what the Doctor deduces is the tomb of Tutankhamun.
Somewhat unbelievably the ethics that was brought up about the issues at play with the attitudes presented by Ben and Polly.
Perhaps not surprising since this was written for readers of 1968.
Overall not bad.

The Adventures of River Song:

Saw The Adventures of River Song on the Doctor Who season 39 DVD set as complementary material to The Husbands of River Song.

Narrated by Nina Toussaint-White who of course played Mels before her regeneration into River in Let's Kill Hitler.

Interviews with River's creator Steven Moffat and River herself, Alex Kingston.

Pretty good overview of River's history leading to The Husbands of River Song.

Of particular interest to me is seeing my wife Karen Gillan as Amy in clips from The Time of Angels, The Pandorica Opens, The Impossible Astronaut, A Good Man Goes to War & The Wedding of River Song.

The Magicians 5.10 Purgatory had Plum Chatwin saying timey wimey plasma.

Curiously Plum was played by Riann Steele who had travelled with the Doctor when she was Queen Nefertiti in Dinosaurs on a Spaceship.

Persuasion:
Persuasion is an audio story from Big Finish.

Featuring the Seventh Doctor and it is the first in a trilogy which saw the return of Elizabeth Klein and introducing Christian Edwards as new companion Will Arrowsmith.

Written by Jonathan Barnes and released in July 2013.

Overall an enjoyable story in which the Doctor, Klein and Will are in the last days of Hitler's Germany as they come across the villains The Shepherds and the Shepherdess with Miranda Raison mesmerizing as the latter and the persuasion machine.

Will sure made an awkward debut as the companion.

With this story named Persuasion, I am reading DWM's Fact of Fiction on Four To Doomsday which coincidentally has a character named Persuasion.

Saw the movie Mr Nobody (2009) and there is a key scene that is similar to one in Blink from two years earlier which can be read about here:

www.imdb.com/title/tt0485947/movieconnections

Blink was written by future showrunner Steven Moffat and Mr Nobody has a couple things in common with a couple of episodes, albeit by other writers, in the Moffat era.

Mr Nobody featured Daniel Mays later to guest star in Night Terrors.

Mr Nobody presented multiple timelines including the importance of the parents of the principal character meeting and being together.

The Rings of Akhaten showed such importance with Clara's parents.
