Pilot:
Guest stars two people who had been regulars in previous Whedon shows, J August Richards (Angel) and Ron Glass (Firefly).
Reference has been made to the battle of New York which took place in Marvel’s The Avengers. This is akin to the beginning of Torchwood with reference to the Battle of Canary Wharf which took place in the Doctor Who season 32 finale Doomsday and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been likened to Torchwood in many regards.
Not a bad way to begin the series with the incorporation of Extremis in the plot.

Review on the pilot:
http://www.thecustardtv.com/2013/09/...r-who-and.html

"Based on this pilot, it is obvious the creators re-watched a bit of Russell T. Davies’ Doctor Who (and Torchwood) while working on this script."

0-8-4:
Not bad on finding out what the episode title was referring to.
A good guest stint from Leonor Varela a woman from Coulson’s past who sure provided a nasty surprise for him.
Not getting a good feeling on seeing Sky responding to a text that “She’s in”.
What a surprise that Samuel L Jackson turns up here as Nick Fury.
