Years and Years

Episode 1:
Series opener.
Written and created by former Doctor Who showrunner Russell T. Davies and this series which sees the experiences of a family as years gone by was one he originally came up for Torchwood: Children of Earth but found no room for it there.
This stars Emma Thompson as Vivienne Rook and Davies used this name before for the ill-fated journalist in Doctor Who: The Sound of Drums.
The white Rosie Lyons gives birth to a half-Chinese baby.
I am a Chinese man myself and it is too bad that Davies didn't write in a Chinese man-white woman relationship in Doctor Who. Frankly I would not have minded being Rose's Chinese boyfriend.
Horrified by the concept of transhumanism.
Daniel could not believe that Rook is forming a party as she is not a MP before it was pointed out to him that she does not have to be a MP to do so.
I find it incredulous that anyone would think that being a MP is a prerequisite for forming a party.
Grandma was told that she did not look a day over 900 and this was the Doctor's age when Davies was running Doctor Who.
The scarf that one of the kids wore looks remarkably like the Tom Baker one.
The situation that ended this first episode is similar to one that Davies presented in Doctor Who: Turn Left.
It was pretty slow at the start but the ending makes up for it.

Episode 2:
Sad that Edith's life expectancy from the fallout with Hong Sha Dao is shorter than first thought.
Somewhat disturbing that Bethany literally has her hand as a phone.
Vivienne Rook runs in a by-election triggered by an MP who got decapitated by a drone.
At the candidates debate, Rook says something about export tariff which led to one of her opponents asking if she knew what that meant or whether she was just saying words.
I have that same experience with someone when I said words to this person and then this person said those words back to me with no understanding of what they meant.
Either say words with an understanding of what they mean or don't say them at all.
Tragic with the financial collapse which saw the Lyons family lose all their money.

Episode 3:
Rook proposes an IQ test to determine who can vote. That is alarming.
Interesting to see on who members of the Lyons family voted for at the election.
Interesting to found out about the orange burger. Wonder how that taste like.
The Lyons siblings are informed that their estranged father got killed in an accident when he was riding a bike as a courier.
At the funeral they meet their half-brother Steven who is similar in name spelling to one
of them Stephen.
Why couldn't the father come up with a completely different name for his younger son and it was tiring hearing the same pronounced named brothers calling each other by their names.
Disturbing seeing the camera as an eye on Lizzie.
Perhaps not unexpected that Rook wins the balance of power and it ends with Stephen running with his rental car over a courier's bike in frustrated remembrance of his late father.

The Next Time trailer sure gave it away on Rook becoming Prime Minister.
