The Zarbi Are Destroyed:
A story from the Give-A-Show Projector included in The Chase DVD.
This concludes the previous story On The Planet Vortis.
A bit harrowing when the Doctor got captured by the Zarbi but luckily got rescued by his companions.
Not bad narrative as it does what it says in the story title as a good conclusion to a two-parter as it is included in the collection of stories that are mostly one-parters.

Jon Culshaw again impersonates Tom Baker this time as The Great Curator in this recreation of the Great Curator’s scene in The Day of the Doctor with the Eleventh Doctor played here by Jake Dudman.
There is also an extra bit tacked into here:

Guardians of the Galaxy (animated) 2.1 Stayin’ Alive:
A crossover with the Avengers as the Guardians meets them in this episode.
Upon returning to Avengers HQ, Ant-Man produces what appears to be the sonic screwdriver that he picked up on their latest mission. Perhaps the Doctor left it behind!
No doubt it is not a coincidence to the fact that movie Nebula my wife Karen Gillan was Doctor Who companion Amy Pond even though Nebula herself (voiced here by Cree Summer) is not in this episode.

Tim Piggott-Smith has passed away.
Born on May 13 1946, Piggott-Smith appeared in Doctor Who in The Claws of Axos as Captain Harker and then in The Masque of Mandrogora as Marco. Coincidentally I am now seeing the latter story on DVD.
Piggott-Smith later read the unabridged novelisation of The Masque of Mandrogora for BBC Audiobooks and that of course involved him being the Doctor, in this case the Fourth.
Outside of Doctor Who his work included Clash of the Titans (1981), Dead Man’s Folly, Spooks, Johnny English, Pompeii: The Last Day, V For Vendetta, Poirot, Quantum of Solace, Alice In Wonderland (2010), The Hour, Downton Abbey, RED 2, Houdini mini-series & Jupiter Ascending.

He died on April 7 2017 just over a month before his 71st birthday.

In DWM’s Special Effects issue, visual effects supervisor Dave Houghton on the new title sequence introduced in Rose whether there was any discussion about including the Doctor’s face in the opening title sequence and said:
“There was. I think it was ruled out because we wanted to keep it quite real. As if it was the actual Time Vortex.”
