Welcome to Goroka, Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea.

A picturesque town clustered around an airstrip, now a commercial centre for the coffee industry, Goroka town was established in the early 1950's as an administrative outpost.

If you are planning a visit to Goroka, a must see is the J K McCarthy Museum.

The museum's shop offers an excellent selection of artefacts and handcrafts.

Streets of Goroka were a hive of activity as people headed off to the show which was held during the Independence Weekend, 14, 15 & 16th September, 2002
