Hi Carrie,

A long time ago. I didn't get any messages from this forum and thought that nobody was reading it.I'm sorry I didn't write you sooner.
How are you? Yesterday I had contact with Mark.We write often write to each other. He used to come to our house in New Guinea so I have a special bond with him.I also had contact with Eric wich was also very nice. Maby we can write through e-mail wich I think is much easier. Why did you write to Mark instead of writing to me?

Write soon!! My address h.l.prins@home.nl

Old friends

Hello HLS old scholars and friends,

My name is Simon Cooper and I lived in the Western Highlands from birth until I was 5 (1965-69). Though I didn't attend the school, my older bro' Michael did. I now live in South Australia and Mike is in the Navy (and probably will be for life!). I'm just keen to find out any news on the following friends:
Monty Yarral
Stevie Bleakie
David Shaus (and did he have a brother my age called Scott?)
Betty Budke (Who's Dad baptised me and was pretty patient with us Cooper bays - I think I broke a little foot bridge that lead to the front door. I think I was fascinated with how soft rotten wood really was!)
...and any others who may remember us. Forgive me if I have mis-spelt any names. I'm operating phoenetically as I didn't write much when I was 5!

Hoping to hear some news.

Simon Cooper

I don't remember a Michael Cooper.I'm sorry.
I remember the sirnames of your friends in PNG but can't tell you anything about them.
I have contact with Eric Stotik,Mark Bowdidge,Carrie Burce.
Do you know these people.Do you have any other e-mail addresses from people who attended HLS from 1970-1975?
I live in the Netherlands so I'm sorry if my English is a little bad.

Thanx

Hi Bert, and thanks for your reply. Actually, Eric Stotic was one of the gang from when we were living in PNG, so I'll let Michael know. His memory would be better than mine. But I am not in contact with any of these people yet.

Glad to hear you play guitar. So do I - but I have a paper cut on my finger at the moment which makes it a bit uncomfortable. Perhaps I should just play thru the pain eh?

Anyway, glad to have got some response.

Simon

Sharon,
I just ran into this forum but it is six years old. Are you still there? My name is John Strackbein. My dad, Rev. Lee Strackbein was there from 54-59. I used to board with the Walter Fehrmann and went to HLS with them when it first opened up. If you get this let me know.
John

Bert,
Did you find Dave Lutz? I am his sister and could help you out. But seeing how old this is I am assuming you have.

Sharon, I went to HLS in 58 and 59 and used to stay at the Fehrman's home on some weekends. My name is Rev. John Strackbein, I knew Jim and his brother John as well as the Hintzes, Hoepners, and others. This is an old post. If you read it and want to know more e-mail me at jnstrack@yahoo.com.
