Orohaven Kokoda Retreat - located in Kokoda, Oro Province

We would like to introduce to you, our very special place located in the Oro Province - OROHAVEN KOKODA RETREAT .

Various huts are available for hire built in the traditional method of the Oro Province.

Within walking distance there are a couple of creeks where you can sit and relax, enjoy a beer, or just let sit on a rock and let the water run over you.

Kokoda is famous for being the beginning or end of a walk on the Kokoda Trail or as some say Kokoda Track.

Orohaven Kokoda Retreat is perfectly situated adjacent to the airstrip in Kokoda.

Some details are as follows:

• Cost of Accommodation: K60.00 per person per night
• Location: Kokoda Airstrip
• How to get there: either fly into Popondetta and travel up by road to Kokoda or charter an aircraft from Airlines PNG, Hevi Lift or Tropic Air. For an added cost we have transport based in Kokoda and can arrange a pick up and drop off at Guria Airport, Popondetta.
• Guesthouses - three bunk style and one set up with a double bed for couples
• Meals - no restaurant however there is a cook located on the premises and he will prepare a meal each night which can be purchased from them. Alternatively, if you wish to buy food from a local store, you can cook your own. Wood fired pizza's also on offer.
• Activities - short treks can be easily arranged. To walk up to Isurava Memorial and back you would need to allow yourself 2 days. This is the highlight for any trekker who walks the Kokoda Trail.
• Showers - a hot outdoor shower on premises
• Toilet - a flushing toilet on premises
• Shop - minimum supplies available such as ice-cream; soft drinks; cold beer
• Transport - a truck is available for hire which can carry 15-20 people depending on their build
• Accommodation - up to 15 people per guesthouse
