Based in Port Moresby the position reports to the Barrick Australia Pacific Exploration Manager, your key responsibilities include assisting in generative programmes and completing exploration activities on projects in PNG. Through the generative programme you will work with a high quality and dedicated multidisciplinary generative team resulting in the identification and acquisition of new prospective projects.

In addition you will also be exposed and expected to contribute to the development of mineral deposit models and exploration strategies within the region and on a global basis.

You will:

Be a degree holder in Bachelor of Science (Geology)
Have a minimum 10 years relevant experience
Have demonstrated commitment to safety, community and environment
Have self motivation, leadership and management skills
Have good communication and administration skills
Have good geological interpretive skills
Have understanding and recognition of mineralisation models and geological processes
Have understanding of economic parameters of mining operations
Have integration skills of multi-disciplinary datasets

Ideally, the candidate will have experience working in a similar role.
