I'm interested in spending some time in the jungles of northern New Britain searching for missing aircraft from the 1940's. I would like to become familiar with how one gets around, available resources at various villages and how one might go about hiring a guide to "stomp around the bush" with till I become acclimated to the local conditions and customs.
I've never been to New Guinea before so I need to start at the beginning.
Someone from the area might provide the best information. Also, I would enjoy chatting with people who live in New Britain and are familiar with bush walking.
