The company enables resource owners in the Vailala and Purari areas to actively participate in rural development.

Landowners in the Vailala and Purari areas in Gulf Province are now able to actively participate in the infrastructure and development of their areas.

Answering the calls for increased downstream processing in Gulf Province, Rimbunan Hijau has facilitated the implementation of two new community based, small scale sawmilling projects under its community development program. The two new projects brings the number of community based sawmills in the region to four.

One of the program's objectives is to enable landowners to produce sawn timber for infrastructure development such as residential and communal buildings.

Additionally, the projects will provide local employment and long term local income.
