Village and Rainforest Trekking
through villages and bush walking through temperate rainforests and rivers, this experience will bring you in appreciation of the rugged yet true beauty of the Highlands of PNG, and how its native inhabitants survive.
Whilst enjoying the nature and trekking aspect, you will also meet and mix with the local villagers.
(Duration half day; one day or two days / one night).
Budget Village Trek
The tour is similar to the above, howefver, vehicle transfers are done via PMV which although run at irregular intervals and often inconvenient are, nonetheless, part of the adventure (duration half day; one day or two days / one night).
Goroka to Madang
the 'mother' of all treks, traversing fromt he Highland villages and rainforests down to the steamy rainforests of the Ramu plains, and Madang inland.
Sheer Mountain gorges; raging rivers and spectacular waterfalls and all daily sights and obstacles on this serious adventure trek. Be prepared to rough it.
Bathroom facilities are non-existent, washing is in streams, and the accommodation will be made from bush materials, unless an isolated garden hut can be found.
What to bring (all treks):
Good quality walking boots, warm clothese, a light raincoat, back pack with personal items, sleeping bag, sun block, hat, camera, film, torch and insect repellent.
